AS SICKBOY SEES IT
Southbound Sickboy …. Back in the Heat / Day 27

This morning I woke up in the luxury of my K+K style hotel room. Before breakfast I met Sickboy. He stayed the night in the posh entrance hall. It is the second day after our brave climb up the Slow. Rep. mountain, under attack of 10,000 horse power engine Holztransportlastwagen. Called „The Enemy.“
And it is second day of Saint’s apologize. Ahead lays a road exclusively built for us over night. People standing in their gardens. Waving. Applauding. Heaven sent. Kids running along with us down the road.
It is a pleasant ride down to Danube River. After lunch the bridge was crossed 40 km left to arrive Budapest.
A new suggestion to chance course was handed in. Why not stay at the river’s bank. Board a Donaudampfschifffahrt’s steamer next day and sail Budapestbound. There are not so many cities these days, that could be stepped in over the water.
The pier was found and a price negotiated. All looks good so far. But in the background our gamemasters started the new challenge. The easy times were ended. The Holztransportlastwagen were followed by The Heatwave.
It took me a little time to understand temperatures were around 45° C. and climbing. Some 30°C plus – compared to the chilly mountain winds.
Nothing moves. There was a promising swimming pool at the camping. Shall we take a day off? Swim. Chat. Sightseeing in the basilica? Write? Think? Eat?
I felt a certain longing for a day without roads, car, smell, noise. Why not play the Heat Challenge easy and cool…
